Moving Wisconsin Forward in the Wrong Direction

In his recent commercial, Governor Scott Walker (R-WI) told the citizens of Wisconsin “Let’s keep moving Wisconsin forward.” However, he failed to mention that forward movement is only worthwhile if the travelers on the journey are moving in the right direction. If the idiot driving the bus is lost, doesn’t know where he is going, and too big headed and arrogant to stop and ask someone who knows the way for directions, traveling forward is counter-productive or a waste of time. Governor Walker is like the bus driver, who is taking his followers on a trip form Madison, Wisconsin to Green Bay, Wisconsin, and even though they have traveled for umpteen hours without arriving in Green Bay, he hasn't figured the reason the signs above the highway, on which he is traveling, reads “St. Paul, Minnesota!”

Sometimes I tell jokes because I know that laughter is the only remaining refuge for many of us. Yet, an overwhelming sadness invades my mind, body and soul every time I think of the unfair, un-Christian, un-democratic policies of Scott Walker that is disseminating one of the proudest, best, and greatest states in the United States.

In case you’ve forgotten or did not know to which unfair, un-Christian, un-democratic polices of Scott Walker I am referring, here are a few to refresh your memory:

As a result of Scott Walker’s policies as the governor of Wisconsin

― Wisconsin’s government is less transparent, less inclusive, less trustworthy, and less user friendly.

― Wisconsin’s government is more divided by class, wealth, and access to government.

―Wisconsin laws are restricting individual rights to vote, file suit against corporations, protect wet lands, protect the environment, and voice concerns about air, land, and water qualities in some of the best preserved communities in the state.

― Wisconsin laws have made it easier for criminals to get guns but harder for honest citizens to vote.

― Wisconsin laws helped corporations and government to coerce public and private workers into working longer hours for less pay and less benefits ― despite the fact that corporate profits are at an all-time high.

― Wisconsin laws created more homeless families, more families without proper medical care, and more families without proper medical insurance.

― Wisconsin laws have created a state that is dependant on the federal government to create jobs. (The most stable corporations in Wisconsin are those with Defense Contracts, for example, Fond du Loc, Marinette, Oshkosh, etc.) One should also note the hierocracy from Walker, along with Senator Johnson, and Congressman Ryan: They claim to be against big government.

―Wisconsin laws created budget cuts to entitlements that targeted the poor and the elderly.

― Wisconsin laws constructed a budget on the backs of the middle class, and with each passing day the governor is requesting more and more sacrifices from them. These are a few of the unfair, un-Christian, un-democratic polices of Scott Walker. Yet, they represent the good news.

The bad news is things are going to get far worse ― if Governor Walker stays in office!

God help us!
